Artist Trading Card Event

Foam Print Event

Great Blue Heron
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Black Moshannon State Park, 4216 Beaver Rd., Phillipsburg

Enjoy a pontoon boat ride about the Great Blue Heron. This is a first come first serve program due to the limited seats. PFD's will be provided. Age limit-4 years and older. Meet at Boat Launch #1. Cost: $2 per person.


Dragons and Damsels
2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Black Moshannon State Park, 4216 Beaver Rd., Phillipsburg

Take a ride on the pontoon boat to see dragonflies and damselflies. This is a first come first serve program due to the limited seats. PFD's will be provided. Age limit-4 years and older. Meet at Boat Launch #1. Cost: $2 per person

Ring the Bell at Boogersburg School!
2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Boogersburg School, 1021 Fox Hill Rd., State College

This Open House is for the young and the young at heart! Learn about school in a 19th century one-room schoolhouse and about Boogersburg School's current role in education.  Visitors are cordially invited to "attend school" any time throughout the afternoon. There will be informal tours, programming and refreshments throughout the day. You won't want to miss this Back-to-School event. You may even get to ring the bell!

Mother Goose on the Loose
10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Holt Memorial Library, 17 N. Front St., Phillipsburg

Join us for a musical, rhyming adventure through the world of Mother Goose. This is a lap-sit program focusing on rhymes and music, encouraging interaction between baby and adult. This program aides in the development of both pre-reading and social skills. 30 minute program. Stay after for some fun with friends and educational playthings.

Wednesday, August 24

Preschool Storytime – Back to School
10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Holt Memorial Library, 17 N. Front St., Phillipsburg

Preschool storytime is geared toward 3-6 year olds with a favoreite adult. Come enjoy stories followed by related activities and interaction with somke of your peers. Some crafts and activities involve parts and directions not suitable for children under 3.

Dog Days of Summer: Pizza and Movie for Kids
6:30 PM – 9:00 PM
Greenmoore Gardens, 193 Eagle Field Rd., Port Matilda

Make your own pizza (with our very own sauce!) in a brick pizza oven provided by Nola’s Joint. Enjoy a bonfire or watch a movie in the corn crib!

Wingfest Challenge!

Tussey Mountain, 301 Mountain Rd., Boalsburg

The area's best restaurants bring their favorite wing sauces to duke it out in a fight for your vote! The winner of each week moves on to the Finals on September 1st, a true chicken wing battle royale! All held mountainside at the Tussey Mountain Amphitheater, with live, local music and a setting sun and views of Happy Valley that are easy to enjoy... Admission/cover is just $5 (children 12 and under free)! Inside, tickets can be purchased ($1 = 1 ticket) to use to buy wings (1 ticket = 3 wings).

What better way to spend an evening than listing to some excellent stories about nature.  Enjoy a story reading by a local volunteer with the whole family.   Meet at the Russel P. Letterman Campground Amphitheatre.

Owl Prowl
8:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Black Moshannon State Park, 4216 Beaver Rd., Phillipsburg

Let's see if we can hear any owls calling. Park volunteer Don Litten will be donating one of his drawings of an owl as a give away to one lucky participant. Meet at Boat Launch #3 on West Side Road.
