Dark in the Park: Stories Around the Campfire

Area storytellers will perform seasonal tales, complete with a campfire. Bundle up, bring snacks and a thermos of hot chocolate, lawn chairs & blankets! Car-pooling is recommended. Shaver’s Creek needs your help to carve more than 100 Jack-O-Lanterns for their annual Fall Festival! They’ll provide pumpkins and spooky treats for this family-friendly affair, while you provide your creative carving skills. The Jack-O-Lanterns created will be used to decorate the Children’s Halloween Trail during our Fall Festival. Preregistration is appreciated by calling 814-863-2000 or 814-667-3424.

Pumpkin Festival

The Arboretum is holding its first seasonal event for the campus and community - a Pumpkin Festival featuring a pumpkin-carving contest and lighted jack-o-lantern display! The jack-o'-lanterns will be lighted for public viewing from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and light refreshments will be available (free) from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. for visitors to enjoy as they view the pumpkins and autumn displays in the gardens.  Bring your own Jack-O-Lantern for the pumpkin carving contest! Family Skate

Howard Volunteer Fire Company Fall Festival

This annual Fall Festival includes craft vendors, food vendors, live bands, square dancers, pie-eating contest, hayrides and “Punkin Chunkin”. This is the only event in Centre and Clinton Counties to feature “Punkin Chunkin”. Pumpkins will be launched towards targets floating in the lake.
